Dieric Bouts

Ode to Dieric Bouts. Analysing by deconstructing each work into, the 1st layer: vanishing lines and objects, 2nd: the box, 3rd: the main colours.

Dieric Bouts was a prominent Dutch painter of the Northern Renaissance, known for his meticulous attention to detail and the use of oil paint, which allowed for rich colour and texture.

He was active in the late 15th century, primarily in the city of Leuven.

He is known for his mastery of perspective, often utilising a single vanishing point in his compositions to create a sense of depth and realism. This technique allows the viewer's eye to be drawn into the painting, enhancing the 3-dimensionality of the scene.
